Rudraksha is a Sanskrit compound consisting of the nameRudra(""Shiva"") and aksha(""eye"").Rudraksha grows in the area from the GangeticPlain in foothills of theHimalayas to South-East Asia and Indonesia. Around 70%of the Rudrakshatrees are found in Indonesia, 25% in Nepal and 5% in IndiaRudraksha seeds arecovered by an outer shell of blue color when fully ripe, andfor this reasonare also known as blueberry beads.
