Rudraksha is a Sanskrit compound consisting of the nameRudra (""Shiva"") and aksha(""eye""). Rudraksha grows in the area from theGangetic Plain in foothills of the Himalayas to South-East Asia and Indonesia.Around 70% of the Rudraksha trees are found in Indonesia, 25% in Nepal and 5%in India Rudraksha seeds are covered by an outer shell of blue color when fullyripe, and for this reason are also known as blueberry beads. Rudraksha beadsare botanically known as Elaeocarpus Ganitrus Roxb.
Rudraksha beads have long historical values in Hindu religion. Different mukhiRudraksha represent different Gods such as Lord Surya, Hanuman, Vishnu, Brahma,Durga, Kartikaya and of course Lord Shiva himself. One who wears Rudraksha getblessings of all of them.
